What is prosthodontics?

Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or maxillofacial tissues by using biocompatible substitute.

Is a dentist the same as a prosthodontist?

 A prosthodontist is a dentist who has undertaken further study at an accredited University and has been awarded a higher degree that allows Specialist Registration with the Dental Board.  Prosthodontists are the only recognised specialists in restorative dentistry.

• Cosmetic Dentistry

• Implants

• Veneers

• Bonded Ceramic Restorations

• Crown

• Bridgework

• Removable Prostheses.

Referrals.

 If you have a dental problem of a complex nature, your general dentist may refer you to see us, however a referral is not strictly necessary.
